Abralena D Wilson DO, received a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Pennsylvania State University with a minor in psychology, and she attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine from where she received her Medical Degree.
In May of 2021, she earned her Masters Degree in Public Health from Walden University, but her training began in 2006 as part of the United States Army Medical Corps, where she completed her surgical internship at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She then completed the Sylvester J. Carter Hand Fellowship Training Program at Lincoln Hospital in New York City, and later, a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx.
Dr.Wilson served as the Administrative Chief Surgical Resident at St. Barnabas and was appointed to the Program Evaluation Committee, serving as the voice and liaison for surgical residents, which eventually led to her passion for and commitment to collaborating with colleagues for the improvement and development of program initiatives and goals for current and future surgical residents. She mentors at the Women’s Health Institute and the Rutgers, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and her current involvement with the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma involves her commitment to advancing the care and rehabilitation for the injured patient.
Dr. Wilson’s accomplishments include participation in an extensive list of presentations and invited lectures, as well as several noteworthy publications in various medical journals, including the Journal of Trauma. She provides personalized and compassionate care to her patients, as her philosophy is to take care of her patients as if they were her family members. In addition, Dr. Wilson is fluent in English and Spanish, her native tongue, and she is a novice listener and speaker of French. Her interests include spiritual development, travel, and philanthropy, all of which transcend from her personal life into her professional unassailable dedication and commitment to helping others through medicine.
